Paul's Heart

Life As A Dad, And A Survivor

Welcome To “Paul’s Heart”

Welcome to Paul’s Heart.  My name is Paul Edelman.  I am married (my 2nd time, though first in my heart) and have two daughters that have been adopted.  I have also survived Hodgkin’s Disease (a form of cancer) more than two decades ago – so far.  Later on in my life, I have found out that there are side effects that were not known back when I was being treated.  And because there was no follow-up protocol for me, I pretty much bounced through life until it was discovered that damage done to my heart from the treatments, had gotten bad enough that I would need life saving surgery, within 24 hours in fact.

This blog is not going to be a step-by-step survivor’s guide.  I am not a doctor, so I will not offer advice, nor should my experience determine any decision you face.  I will do my best to keep a balance of happy/feel good posts, reflections on past events, and decisions/actions that I face in the future.

I am bringing the posts and pages from an older blog, please bear with me.

Please feel free to offer commentary, sign up for the automatic email, or recommend/share my blog with someone you might think could help.  This blog is intended for adult readers as some of my stories can be quite intense.  Depending on the subject, I will notify you as to the sensativity of a subject.  I do not edit what I have written.  What you see is what came out in the original thought.

Thank you for tagging along for a laugh, a tear, inspiration, hope.
